Orca launches Wavebreak launchpad with anti-bot protections
Orca, one of Solana’s longest-running decentralized exchanges, launched a new token creation platform Tuesday designed to combat bot sniping and ensure fair access for retail users.
The platform, called Wavebreak, went live July 29 at orca.so/tokens and uses CAPTCHA verification to restrict both token creation and initial trading to human users.

Transactions must be completed through Wavebreak’s UI, purportedly stopping external bots from frontrunning through the public mempool.
Wavebreak’s first token, Up Only Rocket (ROCKET), was minted on July 18, roughly two weeks before the platform’s public debut.
It tapped highs of nearly $3 million in market cap and trades at around $1.7 million as of July 29, per DexScreener.

Early community members noted that Wavebreak quietly shipped without a public campaign, though speculation about future incentives has grown following screenshots indicating that token traders may receive a share of future “graduated” tokens on the platform.
Wavebreak enters a crowded field of Solana launchpads including Pump.fun, LetsBONK, Moonshot, and Jup Studio.
StoriesDotFun launches on Solana, tokenizes AI-generated narratives
A new Solana-native storytelling app launched Monday, combining user-submitted narratives with AI-generated content and token incentives.
The platform, called StoriesDotFun, debuted July 28 as part of the 2025 Solana Breakout Hackathon.
Its first token, DAD (DAD), briefly achieved more than $7 million in market cap in its first 24 hours, driven by a speculative narrative that blends action-thriller tropes with crypto lore.
As of July 29, the token trades at roughly $200,000, per DexScreener.
The story follows a fictional protagonist who defies cartels and the FBI to rescue his daughter — and later claims to have co-authored the Bitcoin whitepaper under a Japanese pseudonym.
The project integrates tools from ecosystem sponsors including Privy for onboarding, MagicBlock for low-latency rollups, Metaplex for NFT minting, Walrus Protocol for decentralized storage, and Replit for development.
Each story is paired with a corresponding token and minted as a dynamic NFT, with plans for unlockable rewards tied to audience engagement.
The DAD team stated that if the token surpasses its all-time high again, they would begin a “recovery process” to locate and release a fictional hard drive tied to the Bitcoin origin story.
